Did you study Hamlet in school...You know the story, Ophelia's death shows a life spent passively tolerating his manipulations and the restrictions imposed by those around her, while struggling to maintain some dignity...
Loosly inspired by the wonderful painting of Sir John Everett Millias and a follow on from my "20:20 vision" series of works which were abstracted studies of riverbeds and lakeside walks, this entirely instinctive work appeared within my series ' FIRE and ICE' .
But there is no slipped or fallen person in my 'Ophelia', for in a world like ours, within a global complex, capitalist and political quagmire, who knows who is next?
